From Profit to Purpose: How Our Project is Making a Difference as a CIC

At Got Greens, our mission is to inspire others to take urgent action to aid nature recovery and tackle climate change. We believe that this mission is more important than any financial gain, which is why we've structured our farm as a Community Interest Company (CIC).

As a CIC, our primary focus is on promoting the interests of our community and the environment, rather than generating profits. This means that we make decisions based on what will have the greatest benefit for our local community and biodiversity, rather than what will bring in the most money.

One way we're making a difference as a CIC is through our regenerative farming practices. We're located in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, and are focused on food growing and wildlife conservation. Our approach to farming is driven by the planet and the local community, rather than by financial considerations. We're committed to regenerating the land we farm on, which means working with nature to improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and promote sustainable food production. By focusing on regenerative agriculture, we're not only able to grow high-quality produce, but we're also helping to combat climate change and improve the overall health of the planet.

In addition to our farming practices, we've also made a commitment to being a community-focused space. The community space at our farm will bring people together to work with the land, accessing skills and knowledge from local experts. We believe that by sharing knowledge and working together, we can create a more sustainable and resilient future for ourselves and the planet.

As a CIC, our priority is on making a positive impact for our community and the environment, rather than just turning a profit. We believe that by putting purpose first, we can create a brighter future for all. The regeneration of the land at our farm will increase biodiversity and play a small but important role in improving local air quality. We're also committed to rewilding our land and encouraging the re-establishment of native species.

By operating as a CIC, we're able to make decisions based on community and wildlife benefit, rather than financial gain. We hope that through our efforts, we can inspire others to take action and make a difference in their own communities. Together, we can create a more sustainable and healthy future for the planet.

Annual Community Interest Report

As a Community Interest Company (CIC) operating in the UK, it's important to be transparent about our activities and impact. One way we do this is by preparing an annual report.

Our annual report provides an overview of our organization's activities and accomplishments during the previous year. It includes information about our mission, goals, and impact, as well as financial statements and details about our operations and stakeholders.

In preparing our annual report, we aim to provide an accurate and comprehensive picture of our organization's work and its impact on the community. This may include information about our programs, services, and initiatives, as well as any challenges or obstacles we faced during the year.

We also consider our audience when preparing our annual report. We aim to make the document accessible and relevant to our stakeholders, including our members, donors, clients, and the general public.

In addition to presenting our annual report to our stakeholders, we are also required to submit it to the CIC Regulator, the regulatory body that oversees CICs in the UK. This helps to ensure that we are operating in accordance with our mission and the CIC framework.

Overall, our annual report is an important tool for demonstrating the impact and transparency of our organization as a CIC. By presenting a clear and accurate picture of our work, we hope to build trust with our stakeholders and demonstrate our commitment to our mission and the community.
